Personal Status.

Marriage, divorce, custody, alimony, guardianship and inheritance under U.A.E. personal-status law — counsel guided by cultural fluency and care for the lives behind every file.

Approach

The firm advises Muslim and non-Muslim residents on the application of U.A.E. Federal Decree-Law No. 41 of 2024 on Personal Status and the Civil Personal Status Law applicable in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, alongside the established Sharia jurisprudence for matters that fall within it.

Every file is treated with discretion. Where children are involved, the firm's first instinct is to seek stable, dignified outcomes — and to litigate, fully, only where settlement does not protect the client's interests.

Engagements

  • Marriage contracts, validation and dissolution
  • Divorce, khula and judicial separation
  • Custody, visitation and travel rights for minor children
  • Alimony, nafaqa and child maintenance
  • Wills, probate and inheritance disputes
  • Guardianship and trustee matters
  • Family-business succession planning

Procedure

Inquiries are received in confidence, in Arabic or English. A first consultation reviews the documentary record, the applicable law and the realistic posture of the matter. Engagement, where appropriate, is established by a written engagement letter.
